Morissette Amon's THREE BEST RIFFS from Akin Ka Na Lang [LIVE on Wishbus]

This is my analysis, reaction, and breakdown of (in my opinion) the three BEST RIFFS/RUNS in Morissette Amon’s Akin Ka Na Lang, live on the Wishbus. While this song isn’t super riff heavy, it’s clear Morissette has great agility and is very good at riffing. These three that I’ve picked are very pretty, major scale based, and would be great in a lot of settings. They are interesting in my opinion and I haven’t heard too many runs like these.

In this video I break down each run by breaking them into parts, explaining their scale degree (the number assigned to each pitch based on where it falls in the key) go through the process of practicing each part slowly, first with the numbers then just on the vowel Morissette sings it on, then I put them together! This video would be beneficial for singers who want to learn more riffs or who want to improve agility in general. I also think this video would be good for any Mori fans who love this performance!

I am a jazz/R&B vocalist, baritone saxophone player and music educator with two degrees in music. I typically make more traditional “reaction videos” but this is my first time branching out.
