I see the piano as an instrument which is capable of so much more beyond the pianist playing its keys. The idea of pushing the piano's boundaries - and discovering new sounds along the way - has been inspiring me for many years now. It began as a compositional experiment, restricting myself to using the piano only to mimic the sound of orchestras and bands, as opposed to writing for those instruments directly. These restrictions eventually gave me the opportunity to awaken my creative spark.
Imagine we have all the ingredients on Earth - from vegetables to spices etc. - to cook absolutely whatever we want. It would be human nature to jam as many things in there as we can, just because we can, but everything that’s available, isn’t necessarily a good idea too, so with this album I set myself the challenge of picking only one ingredient to make the most out of it and deliver you a full-course meal.

P.S. Don't snack too much on music. Sometimes you have to feel hungry to really enjoy a meal. Bon appétit!
